| Hiroshima Interpreter & Guide Association (HIGA) is
a nonprofit organization, comprised of nationally licensed bilingual guides and
interpreters. With the help and support
of the Hiroshima prefectural and municipal governments and other tourism-related
organizations, HIGA was established in September 1992, prior to the 12th
Asian Games, to respond to the internationalization of Hiroshima.
HIGA is a human-resource organization whose membership includes professional bilingual guides and interpreters, competent conference interpreters, translators, and others with various career backgrounds. HIGA not only works hard to meet individual requests, but also strives to promote international exchange both in and beyond Hiroshima.
